What are the Four Birds?
The question is really Who... Jen's maiden name is Robbins and growing up, her mother's family referred to her family as "The Birds." When we decided we wanted (er, needed??) to make wine, we explored moving to North Carolina to be close to the Robbins family. However, we fell in love with Washington State wine and instead, moved to one of the most inconvenient places in the country for them to visit on a regular basis. And yet, Jen's parents continue to support our dreams in every way possible - typically moving in with us during harvest to help with the kids and the cellar. Jen's sister, who has 3 kids of her own, also comes out to help - with and without the rest of her family - and has also taken in the Armstrong girls for extended periods during the summer. We are so grateful to the Four Birds - Jen, her sister Becky, and her parents, Tom and Pam.
